Skin Tags

Skin tags, also known as acrochordons, are small, soft growths of skin that are often slightly raised and connected to the body by a thin stalk. Typically, skin tags are the same color as the surrounding skin. They are harmless, non-contagious, and commonly appear on areas such as the neck, chest, back, under the breasts, under the arms, or in the groin. Skin tags are most frequently found in middle-aged and older adults, individuals with diabetes, and those who are overweight. While skin tags usually do not cause pain, they can become irritated if rubbed by clothing, jewelry, or other objects.
